Overview

This property had been subjected to severe fire damage. The fire originated from a faulty appliance in the kitchen and the whole property became damaged by the smoke as well as the moisture present from extinguishing the fire.

Internally we removed all fixtures fittings and stripped the property back to its shell then instructed a specialist cleaning company to decontaminate the property.

We followed the specification set out by the contract administrator and organised a detailed programme for everybody to follow. We regularly reviewed the programme and scheduled regular progress meetings.

A project manager was allocated to the property for the duration of the programme and acted as one point of contact for the client and all other trade professionals.

In addition to the internal refurbishment the property also received roof repairs, external façade cleaning, new windows, and a new conservatory.

The project was active during the Covid 19 pandemic, so operatives were unable to work for several weeks. We were enabled to continue as the work was deemed to be essential work. This meant that we were able to source materials from our suppliers and continue work under our company’s strict Covid 19 risk assessment.

The project was active throughout these unprecedented times and although a number of weeks were lost due to the pandemic, we were able to accelerate the programme to still meet the 10 week allocation. In doing so the homeowners were able to move back in and there were no additional costs to the insurance company to pay for alternative accommodation.
